State Bank of India conducts SBI PO exams to recruit a fresh batch of Probationary Officers each year. SBI PO Job Profile and Salary

After clearing the selection process of SBI PO, a candidate is allotted a post of Probationary Officer and he/she has to go through a probation period of two years. After this, he/she is made an Assistant Manager of a branch. Responsibilities and training of an SBI PO comprises of-

  • During the training period, a Probationary Officer is given Clerical or Assistant level jobs to learn and get acquainted with the various aspects of the functioning of the bank.
  • Also, they are trained and are given tasks to gain knowledge and understanding of operations in accounting, finance, investment, and billing, etc during their probationary period.

After completion of the training period and becoming an Assistant Branch Manager, he/she had to take care of the daily transactions, loan process, issuance of drafts, and clearing of cheques, and more.

At present, SBI PO salary comprises a basic pay of Rs. 27,620/- along with successive increments and allowances. This is the reason why it is considered a reputed and desired job among aspirants.

SBI PO Exam Pattern and Syllabus

SBI PO Exam Pattern for Prelims

SBI PO Online Preliminary Exam consists of three sections namely, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, and English Language. A total of 100 objective type questions are to be attempted by the candidate in a time limit of 60 minutes. Given below are the tabulated details of the prelims exam.

SBI PO Exam Pattern for Mains

SBI PO Mains exam consists of both an online-based objective test and a descriptive test. The objective test comprises four sections namely, English Language, Reasoning Ability, Data Interpretation & Analysis, and General/Banking Awareness, pooling together a total of 155 objective type questions with a time limit of 180 minutes. The descriptive test will consist of 2 questions namely, Essay and Letter writing for which time duration of 30 minutes will be given. The table given below provides the details of the Mains exam.
